Redbreast 1997 25 Year Old Cream Sherry Single Cask is a single pot still Irish whiskey distilled at Midleton Distillery in April 1997 and matured in cream sherry single cask #14143. It was bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange at 57.6% ABV with only 534 bottles released. The whiskey is available for around $575 per bottle.
Not an easy whisky, but that's not a surprise. This Redbreast offers a lot. I imagine you won't soon get bored of a bottle, not just because it is really good liquid, but mostly because there's a lot of complexity here.
A Redbreast that focuses on rich spice and dark, dried fruits, adding dashes of sherry brandy along the way. A truly festive after-dinner expression, in a way. The sherry tends to cover up some of the bright fruits that I love so much, but even then it’s a fascinating and complex Redbreast.
