Rare Perfection 15 Years Old Whisky, made from a bourbon mashbill of corn, wheat and malted barley, was distilled in Canada. Initially intended for shorter aging in a cold warehouse, the barrels were forgotten and aged for 15 years before being discovered, dumped and bottled at cask strength, 119.7 proof. This limited release hosts a suggested retail price of $169.
There is a lot happening: some of it incredible, some of it less so. Which makes for a complicated and interesting dram of whisky, if that's your thing.
Rare Perfection 15-year is interesting, to say the least. There are certainly things I loved about it, and others I was a bit unsure about. However, when I let this pour rest a bit I did find that the nose really opened up and revealed some very pleasant and unique notes.
