Rare Malts Natural Cask Strength Benrinnes 21 Years is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Benrinnes Distillery in 1974 and bottled in 1995 as one of the earliest releases in Diageo’s Rare Malts Selection series. At the time, the distillery used a partial triple-distillation process, an uncommon method in Scotland that contributed to the whisky’s weighty, complex character. Bottled at natural cask strength at 60.4% ABV, it is a highly collectible limited release that typically trades at auction for around $882.
Oily rather than silky texture: then a nutty smoky bite and citrus. A full-blooded, mouth-coating experience, and for all its robust, meaty nature, quite gentle.
