Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, released Seasong, a limited-edition bourbon finished in rum casks, on October 27, 2023. It is part of the Distillery Series and crafted from fewer than 15 hand-toasted and charred barrels of High Rye Double Malt Bourbon called Heigold. The mash bill contains 70% corn, 25% malted rye and 5% malted barley. Seasong is bottled at 54.2% ABV in 375 mL bottles. A total of 2,176 bottles were produced, available exclusively at Rabbit Hole Distillery and online in limited quantities.

  • Nose:

    Powdered sugar, vanilla, blueberry pudding, caramel.

  • Taste:

    Nicely balanced on the palate. Walnuts, white chocolate, pear, peach, ginger.

  • Finish:

    Dry finish with tannin, cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of coconut.

  • Overall:

    This isn't breaking any barriers or reinventing the wheel, but it's a nice, perfectly pleasant rum-finished bourbon.
