  • An enjoyable whiskey, if somewhat light-bodied and searing hot on the palate through the finish

  • Nose:

Loads of sweet vermouth on the nose: sweet licorice meets notes of ginger and pink peppercorns.

  • Taste:

Wow! Am I drinking neat whiskey or a Manhattan? This is pretty awesome. Cinnamon, ginger and oak are met with big-time vermouth character, plus vanilla.

  • Finish:

The vermouth gets less sweet and more herbaceous here, which complements the rye nicely. Some cocoa powder and nuttiness sink in as the sip fades.

  • Overall:

This whiskey is well-balanced and delightful. A must for any fan of a Manhattan.

  • Score:

    93
