This is a bottling by Plantation of spirit distilled by Long Pond in Jamaica and aged for 22 years. Bottled at cask strength, this rum is finished for a year in Ferrand barrels. Let's see how it is.

  • This is nice overall. Not mind blowing, but nice. That said, I don't think it's unseating any greats.

  • Nose:

    Sweet pear, mango, brown sugar, papaya. Bright, some copper, pepper, mostly sweet. Faint funk.

  • Taste:

    Thin to medium mouth feel. Prickle of heat, but not excessive. Sweet cream, plantain, pepper, nice oak structure, faint astringency.

  • Finish:

    Short, but nice. Apple, fruits, stone fruits, cream and pepper.

  • Overall:

    This is nice overall. Not mind blowing, but nice. That said, I don't think it's unseating any greats.
