  • Nose:

Very rich nose. Lots of vanilla bean, frosting, anise and gingerbread, plus rich milk chocolate, tapioca, nutmeg and a great mocha note.

  • Taste:

Great viscosity on the palate. Gingerbread, mocha and a big, bright orange note are joined by plenty of anise, pine, oak, tannins and some peppermint tea. After sitting in your mouth for a while some milk chocolate-covered caramels come out. This is so good and lovely.

  • Finish:

Long finish with a delicious marshmallow note at the outset joined by ginger, cloves and a strong citrus character — orange and lemon candies — plus cinnamon and some sweet oak.

  • Overall:

This is an incredible, layered rye whiskey with a gorgeous balance of oak and a wonderful flavor profile.

  • Score:

    92
