Casey Bringle, known for his work in the barbecue industry, debuted his first rye whiskey with this 8-year-old expression from Peg Leg Porker. Made in Tennessee, the whiskey uses a 95% rye, 5% malted barley mashbill and is finished with Bringle’s signature hickory charcoal process. Bottled at 105 proof, this marks his first whiskey release since 2020.

Wow! Extremely expressive. Fruity, bright, powerful and full of apple, pear, honey, oranges, a touch of pine and a huge flourish of rye spice.
Thin to medium on the palate. It's hot and spicy, dry and powerfully herbal. Pine, honey, orange peels and clove. You want rye? This is all rye. Maybe too much rye.
Long finish: herbal, spicy and dry. It's all spearmint, honey, pear, mint, maple and black tea.
Overall, this is all rye, all day, all the time. It's powerful, it's dry and tannic, it's herbal from top to bottom. It will certainly be polarizing, and drinkers who don't like rye need not apply. To the right drinker, this will be a home run, but the venue is no amphitheater.
