  • I only wish that I had been around when this got released to buy many bottles, as this is one of my favorite wheated whiskies to date. It definitely is a contender with the likes of William Larue Weller!

  • Nose:

Big bold, sticky and sweet. Oatmeal cookie, toffee, brown butter, rich custard, French vanilla and gorgeous brioche sweetness.

  • Taste:

Viscous and totally loaded with decadent sweetness, oak and complexity. There’s crème brûlée, a light raisin bread character, just the right amount of oak, toffee, pepper and structure to hold it all together. Delicious and complex.

  • Finish:

Long finish. The proof absolutely sneaks right by, layered in sweet caramel, toffee and a good bit of tobacco, cinnamon and praline.

  • Overall:

This pour put wheat whiskey on the map and encouraged many (including me) to dive deeper down that wheat whiskey rabbit hole. It’s rich, powerful, loaded with character and dessert and complexity. Just wonderful.

  • Score:

    92
