  • The aroma of rich cherries provides a sweet and inviting opening, while the cask-strength 66.1 percent alcohol content is barely noticeable on the palate, which is rich with baking spices.

  • The onset of the strong burn gives only a small window to appreciate the initial flavor, which makes for an appealing challenge as I try to fish out the complex flavors while I still can.

  • Nose:

Powerful and rich on the nose, this pour smells as if it’s powered by pure cherry and oak. Savory baking spice, tannin, a touch of blackberry preserve.

  • Taste:

Unreal viscosity on the palate. At the expense of a good bit of heat, this prickly pour presents heavy oak, bold fruits like cherry and blackberry, and a baking spice backbone that holds it all together. Almost a touch of balsamic on the back palate.

  • Finish:

Long finish. A prickle of ethanol is here once more, but musty old tobacco, a dusty cola-esque note, cherry cola and blackberry preserve persist with an unreal staying power.

  • Overall:

This pour is incredible no meek, sippable, refreshment. It’s dark, fruity, tannic and powerfully presented in a bold pour.

  • Score:

    92
