Papa’s Pilar Rye-Finished Rum is made using the brand’s Dark Rum, which is a solera blended rum sourced from multiple locations including Barbados, Dominican Republic, Panama, Venezuela and Florida. This rum was finished in bourbon, port, and Spanish oloroso sherry barrels with an extended maturation in ex-straight rye whiskey barrels and bottled at 43% ABV. Let's dive in!
Papas Pilar Rye Cask leans on the spice of rye whiskey barrels to help curb its sweetness and clear dosage and it works pretty well. These rums always tend to lean sweet - if that's your jam then you'll be right at home with their latest release.
