  • Really great stuff from Oxbow on this aged release. It hits all of the right notes, remains dangerously drinkable neat throughout, and this oughta make a great cocktail beyond its great neat drinking demeanor.

  • Nose:

Bold, fruity and rich on the nose: plums, pears, pineapple and tropical fruits dance with maple, molasses and a hint of char and spice.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel on the palate, pleasant viscosity and the 95pf sits nicely. Pleasant combination of barrel char, honey, maple, a faint funk and more tropical fruits like pineapple, banana, mango. Lovely stuff!

  • Finish:

Long finish, at sub-100 proof I always wonder, but this rum is striking and the finish carries on for a good, long, while.

  • Overall:

Really great stuff from Oxbow on this aged release. It hits all of the right notes, remains dangerously drinkable neat throughout, and this oughta make a great cocktail beyond its great neat drinking demeanor.
