Old Pulteney 16-Year-Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Pulteney distillery, matured for 16 years in American ex-bourbon and Spanish oak casks. It was bottled in 2023, as a Traveller’s Exclusive at 43% ABV.
Of course the bitter lemon zest and slight saltiness—a staple of any Pulteney—are here. The lack of oomph on the nose is made up with a classic Pulteney palate.
Luxuriously tasty, it’s honeyed and sweet initially, with golden syrup, apple pie, and caramel developing to show subtle spices, chocolate-covered cherries, and a velvety, chocolate cake finish.
