Old Forester’s 2022 Birthday Bourbon is the 22nd limited-edition release, celebrating founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday on Sept. 2. It's aged for 11 years, bottled at 96 proof and retails for over $1,000.
Amazing! Although the alcohol content is relatively low at just 96 proof, the mouthfeel doesn’t disappoint. This release of Birthday Bourbon exceeds expectations and is everything a limited release Bourbon should be.
Elegant and true to the character of the Birthday Bourbon line. It's been several years since I've been able to directly compare the expressions of different years, but if memory serves, the 2022 edition holds up.
That said, 2022 might be my least favorite to date, alongside the equally muddy 2017 offering. It’s not something I’d recommend you shell out $1000+ for on the secondary market, that’s for sure.
