This is a release in Old Foresters Vintage dated line of expressions. Called the "Original Batch" this is supposed to harken back to George Browns orignal batching process. It is "minimally filtered" - whatever that means.

Raided Score: 85Breaking Bourbon By Eric I didn’t know what to expect from this bourbon, but after having it I was surprised at the quality of the whole package. It’s priced a little on the high side, but you’re getting is a bourbon that anyone can enjoy. Read Full Review Raided Score: 85Whisky Advocate By John Hansell Dry, spicy finish. A little rough around the edges, but otherwise an enjoyable whiskey. Read Full Review Raided Score: 86WhiskyCast By Mark Gillespie The finish is light and lingering with soft clove, cinnamon, and orange notes. In short, a simple, clean Bourbon with no pretenses. Read Full Review Raided Score: 85Whiskey Consensus By Luke Grabowski While I did enjoy this pour, I found myself wanting more with each sip and I couldn’t help but compare this to other releases from the Whiskey Row series that has much more to offer and at the same or similar price point. Read Full Review Raided Score: 83Distiller By Distiller Staff The finish is quick and easy, with baking spice and mint disappearing off of the palate. Read Full Review Raided Score: 70The Daily Pour By t8ke Not really remarkable. Thinner than I would like, and hotter than I would like, without bringing much flavor to the table. House Review
Nose:
Brown sugar, maple, banana bread. Lightly musty, some definite youth.
Taste:
Thin, musty, hot. Theres a lot of heat here, for not a lot of flavor. Some maple, more banana bubble gum notes, faint clove.
Finish:
Medium length, heat is better here but a bit too hot still. Oak, pepper, faint clove, some vanilla.
Overall:
Not really remarkable. Thinner than I would like, and hotter than I would like, without bringing much flavor to the table.
