Released in February 2024, Old Forester The 117 Series High Angels’ Share is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 110 proof. This limited release was crafted from low-yield barrels aged on upper rickhouse floors, where evaporation was high.
I wasn’t expecting to find a ton of sweetness in this bottle, and to some extent I was not let down. But that’s what you get with a liquid that’s been this concentrated already. It could have been worse and it wasn’t, so that’s saying a lot.
Yep, I like this. The cinnamon is powerful and complex, with a very good mouthfeel and solid fruity notes underneath. Only the second Old Forester product I’ve liked behind the 150th Anniversary. Maybe my mind can change…
