  • This release proved to be my favorite of the series yet, and it makes me wish that Brown-Forman would elevate their standard 1897 Bottled in Bond product to this level so that consumers could enjoy it on a consistent basis.

  • This is super pleasant and almost entirely too easy to drink. The age is a key cog in bringing just enough oak to be interesting but not so much that its becomes a hot, bitter miss.

  • Nose:

    Rich and bready on the nose, full of banana nut bread, honey, caramels, a light oakiness and pleasant cocoa note.

  • Taste:

    Pleasant and rich on the palate, pleasant and full of caramel, honey, toffee, a light banana character and plenty of dialed-in oak — not too dry, bitter or astringent.

  • Finish:

    The finish is pleasant, albeit a touch short. All caramel and honey, sweet oak, rich toffee and a hint of caramelized sugar and honey roasted peanuts.

  • Overall:

    This is super pleasant and almost entirely too easy to drink. The age is a key cog in bringing just enough oak to be interesting but not so much that its becomes a hot, bitter miss.
