With a suggested retail price of $169.99 per 750-milliliter bottle (although you should expect to pay much more than that on the secondary market), VVS 2025 is aged 11 years and available at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience in Bardstown and select Kentucky retailers. • As an avowed lover of sweeter bourbons, VVS 2025 immediately stands out as not just one of the best Old Fitz releases in recent memory, but one of the best bourbons I’ve tasted to date this year.

  • Nose:

Sweet and delicious nose full of vanilla bean, coffee bean, oak, black cherry, fresh raspberries, cinnamon rolls and clove.

  • Taste:

On the palate, this wheated bourbon is beautifully balanced. Toasted oak meets cornbread fresh out of the oven with browned butter melting atop it. Tannin intertwines with clove, cinnamon and sassafras. Black cherry and saltwater taffy add a fun, fruity profile, and there's also a light, fluffy quality at play here that's reminiscent of marshmallow fluff but with more of a honeyed sweetness. Big bubblegum vibe toward the back of the palate.

  • Finish:

Long finish, which sees sweetness and oak interwoven with some baking spice. Browned butter is at play with soft oak and tannin, cinnamon and clove, apple pie, caramel, marshmallow, cookie butter and a bit of tea.

  • Overall:

A truly delightful bourbon from Heaven Hill. It's delicate, silky, soft, sweet and nicely balanced.

  • Score:

    94
