Old Elk Single Barrel Select

The Old Elk single barrel program allows retailers, whiskey clubs and collectors to select custom barrels from five mashbills, either remotely or at the Fort Collins, Colorado distillery. Each barrel, made from toasted and charred American white oak, is reviewed by master distiller Greg Metze. Bottles are delivered within five weeks and feature custom labels with mashbill, age and bottling date. Select offerings include a personalized antler topper and display barrel or barrelhead. Available options include an 8-year high-malt bourbon with four times the malt of standard bourbon; a 7-year wheat whiskey made with 95% soft red winter wheat and 5% malted barley; a 7-year sour mash bourbon made with a unique yeast; a 6-year rye whiskey made from European rye; and a 6-year rye finished for 2 to 5 months in 14-year-old Barbados rum barrels. Participants may also create custom micro-blends by combining barrels.
