Oak & Eden Wheat & Honey is a wheated bourbon finished with a medium-toasted American oak spire infused with American honey, inserted into each bottle. The whiskey comes from MGP and uses a mash bill of 51% corn, 45% wheat and 4% malted barley. It ages a minimum of three years and is bottled at 45% ABV with an MSRP of $59.99.
A sweet and creamy nose with aromas of maple syrup, burnt sugar and coconut. Dried fruit flavours are layered with prominent oak spice on the palate. Bright and balanced.
Oak & Eden Wheat & Honey is a fun play on marrying honey and bourbon, and while purists might disagree, the honey-soaked oak spire makes for a fun talking point.
This is a fun concept and probably best in a cocktail. The subtle notes and easy flavors will make it a great addition to any subtle whiskey drink. A hot toddy, or maybe eggnog, would be an excellent place for this whiskey.
