  • This release is lovely, distinctive and shows that 56% is a killer sweet spot for ABV on a pleasantly aged rye. Very cool stuff.

  • Nose:

Beautiful richness on the nose, with sesame seed, toffee, sweet cream and a pinch of butterscotch. Not too floral, not too grassy.

  • Taste:

Pleasant viscosity. Big corn sweetness at first. Creamed corn, butterscotch, vanilla bean, light rye bread. The rye catches up in due time, bringing big peppery rye character with gobs of maple and brown butter.

  • Finish:

Moderate, complex finish. The rye and maple come together for a sweet and spicy exit.

  • Overall:

This release is lovely, distinctive and shows that 56% is a killer sweet spot for ABV on a pleasantly aged rye. Very cool stuff.
