New Riff Sour Mash Single Malt is a whiskey with a lot to say, but only a limited window to say it all. It’s immediately appealing to fans of bold oak and spice, with enough fruit and subtle sweetness to potentially make ardent bourbon drinkers reconsider malt.
It remains a unique and exciting experience, but I have to say that I enjoyed New Riff’s Single Malt more when I tasted it at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival after a long day of drinking nothing but bourbon and rye, where its uniqueness really stood out against a sea of bourbon’s caramel corn and bold fruit flavors. Still worth your time, however.
