New Riff Single Barrel Rye Whiskey, crafted from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted rye, is aged for four years and bottled at barrel proof without chill filtration. Each barrel is individually approved by New Riff’s production panel, with proof varying per barrel. It's priced at about $57.99.
The longer this opens the more “dark sweets” profiles start to show with some hints of butterscotch and caramel. The fruity notes also rise, but never outpace the oak and spice notes. Adding water enhances the whiskey by deepening these profiles.
