Founded in 2019, Natterjack is an Irish whiskey brand that was started by a bourbon fan, and you can clearly identify the bourbon influences in Natterjack's production. The brand's Irish whiskeys are distilled from 80% corn and 20% malted barley and aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 3.5 years prior to being finished for a year in American oak casks sourced from a cooperage in Napa Valley. This whiskey is bottled at 126 proof, a roaringly high mark for an Irish whiskey.

Peaches and pear on the nose, joined by sweet honey and vanilla, a pinch of pepper and some ginger, rising bread and maple.
The palate is rich, and the high proof adds a really nice viscosity. With regard to flavor, this is a dessert bomb. Stone fruits, honey, peaches and pears contribute to a sweet, fruity profile. Light oak, satisfying clove and pepper.
Long finish with lovely sweet cream, apple, pears and oak.
This is killer stuff and a far cry from Natterjack’s standard expression — better in every way. Nicely done!
