Distilled by Mount Gay in Barbados the XO Triple cask is bottled at 43% ABV. This offering is a blended small-batch comprised of rums aged 5 to 17 years in American whiskey, bourbon and cognac casks. Let's dig in!
Overall, a weak palate gives way thanks to an incredible nose and finish. At 50% I have no doubt this would be a bruiser of a pour, but at 43% Mount Gay seems satisfied to leave this solidly in the ‘Just Fine’ camp.
