  • Aromas of delicate white flowers, yellow cake batter, over ripe tropical fruits and sweet meadow honey. The palate is fruity and spicy with dried bananas, toasted oak, allspice, mace, citrus peel, white pepper, and spicy ginger. Eclipse finishes moderately dry and spicy with a light essence of an orange twist.

  • There’s nothing wrong with this rum but there is nothing to write home about or get excited. It’s just the same old standard cheap gold rum.

  • Nose:

Banana, honey, sweet cream, maple, a touch of brown sugar, pepper and papaya. It’s light, fruit driven and sweet with some balancing spice on the nose.

  • Taste:

Pleasant on the palate, full of honey, banana, papaya, a touch of melon and butter cream. Lightly bitter, there’s some pepper and ginger, a hint of ethanol bite despite the low proof.

  • Finish:

Short finish, peppy and full of tropical fruit, caramel and a touch of vanilla.

  • Overall:

Despite the low proof it’s an intriguing pour and a unique look at what Mount Gay has in store. It’s a lighter, less funky look at Mount Gay but it’s entirely enjoyable all the same.
