Mile High Spirits Fireside Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made at Mile High Spirits distillery in Denver, Colorado. It's distilled from Colorado corn, barley and rye and cut with Rocky Mountain water, then aged a minimum of 2 years in new, charred American oak. The bourbon is bottled at 40% ABV and sells for around $30.
Vanilla and orange is present on the palate too, which is joined by baking spices, brown sugar, and coffee. The initial sip seemed a bit watery but then exploded with flavor and a strong alcohol punch.
I’ve mostly been sampling more affordable or mixing spirits this summer, so Fireside Bourbon Whiskey was like a breath of fresh air. The flavor is full of complexity, and I felt I could taste something new with each sip.
