Released in September 2024 by Ohio's Middle West Spirits, this whiskey is aged four years in American white oak barrels and then transferred to Napoleon Calvados casks for another one to two years. The base whiskey is a blend of Middle West's Soft Red Winter Wheat and Dark Pumpernickel Rye whiskeys. It's bottled at 61.9% ABV and priced at $129.99. We are tasting barrel 112-131.

Sweet, pastry-forward nose with some heat. Stroopwafel, caramel, apple pie, cherry, powdered sugar, cappucino.
Lovely viscosity on the palate. A big caramel apple note is backed up by French vanilla, cherry, browned butter, oak and tannin, Seville orange peel and a touch of blueberry. The wheat and calvados drive the boat initially, and then some rye influence pops up, kicking in plenty of cinnamon and some cracked pepper, ginger and anise.
Custard, cinnamon, tobacco, apple pie, pepper, vanilla latte and a bit of faint wheat funk.
A rich, decadent, bruising whiskey. It's not overly complex, but it's totally delicious. The blend of wheat and rye and the calvados finish all work in harmony to deliver a beautiful whiskey
