  • It's held back by that youthful woodiness, but man, I'd love to taste it after a few more years in the barrel. As is, it's still great.

  • It’s bold and strong, with a lingering mouth tingle. A very pleasant sipper.

  • Nose:

Confectionary, dark and brooding on the nose. Luxardo syrup, graham cracker, gingerbread, brown sugar, marshmallow fluff, cocoa, peaches and cream, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg.

  • Taste:

Rich palate with plenty of clove and tobacco, a big banana walnut bread note, caramel, brown sugar, chili powder, oak, nutmeg, and more marshmallow fluff. A slight youthful woodiness is the only off note in sight.

  • Finish:

Big coffee note on the finish is joined by rich marshmallow, banana nut bread, clove, tobacco and plenty of barrel char.

  • Overall:

Delightful rye at a great price point. Incredibly rich despite its modest proof, this dark and decadent rye delivers a lovely balance of sweetness, spice and oak. It’s rich and deep and reminds me of a great Michter’s rye, albeit a bit less rich and and younger-tasting. It's held back by that youthful woodiness, but man, I'd love to taste it after a few more years in the barrel. As is, it's still great.
