  • A slightly more boisterous barrel strength rye than last year, but every bit as enjoyable.

  • Nose:

Beautiful rich, decadent nose. Delicate heat meets rich sweetness and soft spice: French toast, crème brûlée, cherry, apple bake, cinnamon rolls, cardamom.

  • Taste:

Awesome, syrupy thick viscosity on the palate, which is held up by a strong oaky, tannic backbone throughout on the palate. Lovely cherry note, plus green apple peel, cinnamon, gingerbread, clove, confectioners sugar, cardamom, nutmeg and brown sugar

  • Finish:

Medium, warming finish. Apple peel note continues onto the finish, joined by a good deal of tannin and cinnamon, plus some tobacco, clove, toasted marshmallow, peanut brittle and nutmeg.

  • Overall:

Spectacular, delectable rye whiskey. Michter's is so good and continues to put out some of the world's best whiskeys on an impressively frequent basis.

  • Score:

    95
