Michel Couvreur Blended Malt is a Scotch whisky aged in Burgundy, France, in Bouze-lès-Beaune. It combines up to 50 single malts ranging from 12 to 27 years old, matured in ex-sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV.
This is a genuinely intriguing whisky that makes you think. I don’t get the cork and I think the whole “bottled in French Burgundian caves” bit is a prime example of marketing, but there’s no denying that the actual whisky is a gem and should be tried by malt-lovers everywhere.
Though it is a bit of a one-hit-wonder on the flavor profile, there's enough of a tang there to keep you interested. Warming spiced notes hit you on the finish.
