  • I like this, though fans of less smoke may find it a bit intense. There's great fruit (grilled pineapple) and creamy sweetness that we come to expect from Espadin, and the smoke note helps keep it from cloying sweetness.

  • Nose:

Sweet on the nose, a light cocoa note is present along with papaya-like sweetness, honey and a touch of salinity.

  • Taste:

Big smoke on the palate, kind of unexpected based on the sweetness of the nose. Char, some light brine, big sweet cream notes and a touch of acrid plastic.

  • Finish:

Long ashy finish that touches on the sweetness of the nose a hair, big grilled pineapple notes, and vanilla bean sweetness.

  • Overall:

I like this, though fans of less smoke may find it a bit intense. There's great fruit (grilled pineapple) and creamy sweetness that we come to expect from Espadin, and the smoke note helps keep it from cloying sweetness.
