  • This is quite a rustic mezcal, with a nose of fresh and sweet mesquite wood, crushed berries, apricots, cut apples, and a touch of evergreen. Really exotic stuff, and worth checking out by any mezcal fan, particularly at this price.

  • Nose:

Green bean all day long. String beans, asparagus, green onion and all matter of leafy greens.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate, a touch bitter and lactic, but there's some citrus and sweetness as well. The string bean note is pervasive and unshakable, with cream cheese icing and string bean uniting in a unique profile.

  • Finish:

Short, ashy and acrid finish. Hot for 43% and a big hit of bitterness.

  • Overall:

The nose and palate are lovely, but somewhat dampened by the finish here. Fans of unbridled Tepextate and some Cuixe with that bean character will find more enjoyment than others, although the finish does limit how well this performs overall.
