Meukow VSOP Superior Cognac is produced by Meukow Cognac in the Charente region of France. It is aged for a minimum of four years in French Limousin oak, with the distillery aging it one year longer than required for VSOP classification. It is bottled at 40% ABV and retails for around $46.
It’s unmistakably built in the style endemic to Cognac, mixed florals and gentle linen notes giving way to a lingering note of chocolatey mocha, vanilla, and a pinch of spice. It’s not overwhelmingly complex, but at the same time, it never disappoints.
Stewed fruit, vanilla, and a hint of pear, inviting yet subtle. The palate reveals a bright pear pastry, enriched by sweet baking spices, creating a harmonious balance.
