Metaxa is a Greek spirit made from sultana, savvatiano and black raisins, blended with aged Muscat wines from Samos and Lemnos. It ages for at least three years in handmade French oak barrels before being flavored with a secret mix of herbs, including rose petals. The Private Reserve expression includes spirits aged over 30 years.

Palate entry is fudge-like and intense in its sweetness and woodiness; midpalate introduces some wood resin to counter the sweetness. Finishes toasty, bittersweet, caramel-like and woody.
