Hailing from the hills of Jundiaí, Brazil, Sovereign Brands’ McQueen and the Violet Fog features a sugarcane base and a fusion of 21 botanicals, including lemongrass, pomelo peel, orris root and jasmine flower.
Really interesting gin here from McQueen and while it’s far more aromatic than I typically roll with, the fruits and lavender could have some really fascinating cocktail experiences ahead of them.

House Review
Nose:
Bold, fruity and sweet, this reminds me of those fruity Dots candies, couples with some pepper and a pop of ethanol.
Taste:
Pleasant and sweet on the palate, full of lavender, strawberry and grape notes. Orange puree, vanilla been. It’s sweet and floral with a good bit of candied fruits and artificial fruitiness.
Finish:
Long finish, leaning heavy on pepper, lavender and a hint of Juniper.
Overall:
Really interesting gin here from McQueen and while it’s far more aromatic than I typically roll with, the fruits and lavender could have some really fascinating cocktail experiences ahead of them.
