McKenzie Bottled-in-Bond Rye Whiskey is aged at least four years in a federally bonded rickhouse and bottled at 100 proof, using a mash bill of 80% rye and 20% malted barley. Distilled with local grain, it reflects the Finger Lakes region and meets Empire Rye standards requiring a minimum of 75% New York–grown rye.
It’s not very bright or hot which is nice. There is a rich fruity flavor that makes it very drinkable. It’s smooth and goes down easy. I would love to sip on this one for an evening.
