Martell XO Cognac is crafted from a blend of eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne and the rare Borderies terroir. Aged in French oak barrels, a bottle retails for around $250.
Palate entry is sweeter and fruitier than the Cordon Bleu; round, luxurious and slightly coffee-like in its bittersweet approach at midpalate. Ends with an inoffensive little numbing sensation.
