Fat Pug American Malt Whiskey is produced by Maplewood Brewing Company and Distillery in Chicago, Illinois. Launched in 2014, the distillery expanded into spirits after opening its production facility in Logan Square and now distributes across Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Kansas. This American malt whiskey is inspired by the grain bill of Fat Pug Oatmeal Milk Stout and includes a blend of pale malt, dark crystal, dark Munich, chocolate malt and roasted malt. Aged over two years in new American white oak barrels with a light char, it is bottled at 90 proof. It hosts a suggested retail price of $45.

  • Maplewood Fat Pug is a good craft whiskey with a unique flavor profile. With a few more years in the barrel we think this could be a very tasty whiskey! Maplewood has some really cool projects going on so we're looking forward to see what they will be brining to market in the coming years.
