Mammoth Woolly Rye is a high-malt rye whiskey produced in Michigan from a mash bill of 88% Wheeler rye, 10% malted Conlin barley and 2% caramel malt, with grains sourced from Northern Michigan farms and water drawn from the Torch Lake aquifer. The whiskey is distilled in a custom pot still and aged in new, level-three char American oak barrels, with final blends ranging from two to four years old. Bottled at 46% ABV, or 92 proof, the whiskey offers aromas of baking spices and cedar, according to the producer, followed by notes of clove, cinnamon bun, spicy caramel, walnut and pecan.
