Maker’s Mark The Stewards Release (2026) is a Kentucky bourbon produced at the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto. It is finished using 10 virgin toasted American oak staves, enhancing the brand’s signature flavor. It is bottled in two batches at 56.65% ABV (113.3 proof) and 59.4% ABV (118.8 proof), with a suggested MSRP of $74.99. This release is the third installment of the Wood Finishing Series, following The Heart Release (2024) and The Keepers Release (2025).
This is a drying whiskey with a short, earthy conclusion, and though it may feature a familiar recipe, it comes out the other end a completely different animal.
"The Stewards Release" is a more fruit-forward stave-finished bourbon in Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series that offers a sweeter, slightly more nuanced take on the series' signature oak-heavy flavor profile.

House Review
Nose:
Vanilla custard, oak, graham cracker, key lime pie, chocolate-covered orange, cherry pie, leather, a touch of ginger.
Taste:
Soft oak and big graham cracker on the palate, plus butterscotch, peanut brittle and Dreamsicle. Pleasant flavor profile — sweet and smooth, classic maker’s, with a little welcome oaky bite.
Finish:
Candied ginger and cinnamon lead into brown sugar, fresh-baked cookies and browned butter.
Overall:
Rock solid. Not complex but super tasty and sweet, with a perfect amount of complementary oak.
Score:
89
