A bit low on the proof. Its not unique or exceptional but it also doesn't perform poorly, so thats nice. The astringency on the palate is a downer for me, though.
It may not have an incredibly deep or unique palate, but it has some decent flavors that mingle well and finish with a nice burst. I might not be running to the store to buy as much as I can of it, but next time I see someone order one at a bar, I’ll try harder to be less of a bourbon snob and order one with them.
I like Maker’s Mark. It doesn’t have quite the depth and complex character that you can get with some bourbons, but it’s well balanced, delicious and easy to sip.

House Review
Nose:
Brown sugar and a little grass
Taste:
Coating is fairly light, very little ethanol burn. Theres a little brown sugar and not a whole lot more. Some faint astringency and a taste I can only describe as aluminum.
Finish:
Not super short but doesnt stick around for a while, either. Its very mild and forgiving, not a lot of alcohol and leaves with a short, sweet finish.
Overall:
A bit low on the proof. Its not unique or exceptional but it also doesn't perform poorly, so thats nice. The astringency on the palate is a downer for me, though.
