A strong start gives way to a disappointing trajectory. Macallan Gold is a perfect business class whiskey - approachable and expensive, but not too expensive, and goes down entirely too easy. If you're looking for a great sherried dram, you'd do best to keep looking for something that can stand up for itself.

House Review
Nose:
Some rich sherry notes on the nose - fig, blackberry, musty tobacco and a hint of baking spice and cranberry. Light nuttiness and brown sugar.
Taste:
Thin on the palate - extremely feeble. No ethanol, but not a lot of character, either. Light and sweet, there's some maple, pepper, light malt character and some fig and honey.
Finish:
Short finish, it's gone before you know it. Very little character on the back palate as it wisps away.
