Amaretto di Saschira is produced in Padova, Italy, by Luxardo, a company founded in 1821. Flavored with essential oils from cherry, peach and apricot pits, the liqueur is bottled at 24% ABV.
When I take a sip of the Amaretto, I am very impressed by the luscious marzipan flavour and the soft, rich mouth-feel. There is nothing artificial or medicinal in the flavour profile.
A refreshing change from the sticky syrupy that a lot of companies try to pass off as amaretto. While distinctly different from the French style of amaretto, this Italian amaretto is a standout.
