  • It’s not the most complex thing on the block, but for a young PX finished bourbon, it’s not wildly surprising either. Makes a delightful old fashioned.

  • While the PX Sherry influence is subtle and the youthful character is noticeable, this whiskey still delivers great value at its price point, especially for those who enjoy a long, spice-forward finish.

  • Nose:

Heavy sweetness, dates, raspberries, vanilla, a bit of fig, honey and a little pepper. Not wildly complex but tons of fruit and sweetness.

  • Taste:

Pleasant on the palate. Super sweet, heavy cream, dates, plum, brown sugar and maple. Not a ton of oak, light on the ethanol, not super rich, but pleasant and sweet.

  • Finish:

Long finish, the heat pops here a good bit, tons of cream, fig and maple.

  • Overall:

It’s interesting how the heat sneaks by on the nose and palate but pops in the finish. That said, this is interesting, sweet and dare I say crushable. It’s not the most complex thing on the block, but for a young PX-finished bourbon, it’s not wildly surprising either. Makes a delightful old fashioned.
