In April, Spirit of Gallo expanded its highly popular High Noon Vodka Seltzer lineup with the addition of Lucky One Lemonade. Rather then join forces with a conventional celebrity, the brand was ostensibly brought to market in partnership with Miss Peaches, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy's pit bull mix who (*checking notes*) has over 1.5 million followers on Instagram. That makes Lucky One, perhaps, the first and only alcohol brand backed by a so-called furfluencer. The drink is a vodka-based, non-carbonated lemonade canned at 4.5% ABV, purportedly made with real lemon juice and other natural flavors. Individual cans and 8-packs cost exactly the same as a standard High Noon.

Smells like the kind of lemonade you'd make at home with powdered 4C mix. It's not too sweet, but it also doesn't have the puckering quality of fresh squeezed lemon. Very nostalgic, very easygoing. Wouldn't know it was mixed with vodka if I didn't know.
The lemon flavor is more sweet than sour but once again doesn't veer too far in either direction. The tartness of the lemon and the bite of the vodka combine for a perfectly ratioed if inoffensive sip. It's got the vibe of one of those state fair lemonades served in a comedically oversized plastic cup, complete with a swirly straw or two for sharing. Tastes great after a couple of hours in the fridge.
Hints of lemon juice, lime and light minerality. The alcohol content vanishes in a flash.
Lucky One sticks by the exact basics of what you'd expect from a vodka lemonade. Grab it by the eight-pack, toss it in a cooler and enjoy in the backyard on a hot summer day. There's nothing not to like here, but don't expect it to reinvent the formula. A key selling point: You'll get to explain to your friends that a media magnate's dog has her own alcohol brand.
