  • Again, a punchy start conceals the complexity for the first few moments. Initial notes of pepper-jam, cooked sugar, and pear lead into a smoky marionberry-and-kelp finish that lingers without scorching the mouth.

  • Nose:

The nose is loaded with sweetness and orchard fruit notes — golden delicious apple is the big one jumping out at me, flanked by salted caramel.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel with a soft and sweet flavor profile. This is easy-drinking and delicious. Gentle oak meets more apple character, plus caramel and a touch of cinnamon.

  • Finish:

Notes of cinnamon and apple — reminiscent of an apple bake — carry the finish, joined by oak.

  • Overall:

A very nice, pleasant scotch. It's not too complex, but it's an easy drinker that's super easy to enjoy.

  • Score:

    87
