House Review
Nose:
Sweet wine, toffee, buttered popcorn. Like a really buttery chard. Nutty, all sweet, no real smoke presence yet. Rich sweetness.
Taste:
Thick, rich. Super sweet, lots of nutty sherry, buttery. Creamy, loaded with pepper and then the smoke blows in. Ashy, pepper, and vegetal peat. No band aids here, but the sea influence is really prominent. Some meatiness. Almost token Ledaig peat and smoke.
Finish:
Medium length, mild heat. Brash peppery peat. Earthy. More peat than sweet in the finish keeps the exit from being cloying. Nice and dry.
Overall:
Really great progression from sweet dessert on the nose to a smoke bomb on the finish. Ledaig nails it again.
