This is an 11 year old expression from Ledaig, finished in a Hermitage cask. I don't know how long the finish was, but it has nice color to it. So I'm guessing a year or more.
This was nice but couldn't keep up the momentum the nose was generating. Definitely enjoyable though and a definite nod to the consistent quality were seeing in a lot of these Ledaig IBs.

House Review
Nose:
Huge honey and the peat slap begins. Earthy, mineral forward, wet peat slap. Honey, caramel, sweet pastries and stewed fruits. Really notably rich.
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel. Sweet honey, stewed fruits. Honeydew, pastries, lemon meringue, rich berries. Peat is present but less aggressive than the nose. Good balance and well restrained heat.
Finish:
Long, earthy and peat dominant. Ashy and really void of fruitiness or sweets.
Overall:
This was nice but couldn't keep up the momentum the nose was generating. Definitely enjoyable though and a definite nod to the consistent quality were seeing in a lot of these Ledaig IBs.
