  • Nose:

Sweet vanilla custard on the nose, along with graham cracker, golden raisin, madeleines, macadamia nuts and maple.

  • Taste:

Velvety mouthfeel on the palate, which has a pleasant amount of oakiness to balance out the sweet flavor profile. There's a huge peanut brittle note plus cola, black cherry, molasses, nougat, caramel, Red Hots, a touch of mint, sawdust, raisin and a slight minerality. There's some heat here but not an overwhelming amount.

  • Finish:

Long finish with tannin, soft oak, clove, cinnamon, leather, brown sugar, more cola, sassafras and marshmallow.

  • Overall:

Not too complex, but a tasty, sweet release from Heaven Hill. It doesn't reach the heights we know LBP is capable of, but it's still great bourbon.

  • Score:

    89
